Day 1

Hiked in to set up camp above Sam Mack Meadows.

Day 2

Made an ill-informed attempt to cross Winchell Col to access Thunderbolt Peak's West side. We aborted this attempt due to unsafe conditions in the chute to the West of the col and decided instead to climb the Class 3 East Ridge of Mount Winchell. The rock was great , Secor's route description is good, and there was only one section of steep snow that we needed ice axes to cross.

Day 3

Climbed the Class 4 Northeast Couloir of Mount Sill. PT and Hamik opted for the 5.6 Swiss Arete (short but fun - upto 2 pitches of serious rock but mostly class 4-5 scrambling). All descended by the same Northeast Couloir. Back at camp, it was discovered that all of PT's and Hamik's tortilla had been eaten by marmots. The marmots did not like nutella, and these two poor climbers thus survived on a bottle of Nutella and donations from other team members.

Day 4

Hike back to Glacier Lodge.
