Routes
There are many routes on Mendel, ranging from Class 3 to technical ice (including two of the most famous ice climbs in the Sierra).
Left Couloir/Ice Nine
A very brief description is in Climbing California's High Sierra. A classic ice route, legend has it the ice-tool was invented by Chouinard for this very route.
