Mineral King sits at the end of 25 miles of winding road from highway 198, in Sequoia National Park. It is the best access for destinations in the Great Western Divide, including Black Kaweah and the rest of the Kaweah peaks, Sawtooth Peak, and many others.

In the late spring and early summer, it's recommended that you protect your car with a tarp or chickenwire, as marmots apparently enjoy munching on cables.
