	January 5-8: Several CAC members attend the Ouray Ice Festival!
	January 11: Slideshow by MIke Libecki
	January 26, Patagonian ice fields and Sierra ice : Renowned mountain guide Robert "SP" Parker as he tells us about his traverse of the Patagonian Ice-cap (his was the first ascent of a new route), and about the ice-climbing opportunities in our own California Sierra. SP is the established expert and author of guide-book on Sierra Ice. About 100 in attendance for a fantastic talk, with snacks and beer. Some lucky souls even answered trivia questions to win copies of SP's Sierra ice climbing guidebook!
	January 28-29: Avalanche Safety Course 2012 attended by 20 people
	February 1, Tour of Stoney Point Climbs by the guidebook author himself, Chris Owen. Around 12 members attended.
	Febuary 15:Solitaire ski film screening.
	Febuary 22: Dylan Johnson Slideshow. Noted American alpinist Dylan Johnson gave a slideshow about his first ascent in China, and some other very impressive first ascents. Their route on the southwest ridge of Siguniang (6250 metres) involved 9200 feet/72 pitches of technical climbing, including free climbing up to 5.11. Dylan and his partner Chad Kellogg spent 10 days on the razor-edge ridge, including an unplanned open bivy at 20,000 feet.
	February 18-19 : Training Trip #1 to San Gorgonio. 10 Summit in deep snow and blowing winds!
	February 25-26 : Training Trip #2 to San Gorgonio. 27 Summit in bluebird conditions!
	March 9: Pre-Banff GUSH , from 6-10pm in the North Catalina Rec Room. People forgot their finals, came check out the slackline and some movies! 26 pull-ups was the record for this evening.
	Wednesday, March 14: Gear Swap 2012 at 7:30pm. Great turnout!
	March 27: The Banff Mountain Film Festival stopped at Caltech and was a huge success! Nearly 1000 people saw the show, had 3 kegs of free beer courtesy of Eagle Rock Brewery and the AAC, and some people even went home with sweet swag. Thanks for joining us!
	April 6-8: The annual Mount Whitney winter mountaineering trip was a great success! 28 people summited by the Mountaineer's Route. There were shenanigans on top, including an Easter egg hunt, kite-flying, tuxedo-wearing, hula-hooping, and ukulele-playing. What a great group!
	April 19 : All.I.Can. movie night - pizza, drinks, ~40 in attendance!
	May 12-13 : Veteran's Trip ! 11 climbers on the south face of Lone Pine Peak and 5 on Mt. Le Conte! Click for lots of photos.
	May 17: Our yearly organizational meeting to choose new leaders and discuss the club's goals for the coming year.
	May 24 : Kadoma BBQ and Open Air Film Screening! We ate burgers and watched epic expedition kayaking in Africa under the stars. Attendance was around 50 people.
	June 5 : Rescue practice! Crevasse rescue session.
	June 13 : Kyle Dempster Slideshow! Kyle is one of the world's best young alpinists, with countless incredible ascents and undoubtedly more to come. Snacks and drinks! 110 people attended.
	June 23 : Eaton Canyon 2012 cleanup, with the AAC and the Access Fund. This was a great success! Thanks the ~50 attendies for spending a Saturday having fun and helping out to clean up a beautiful local natural gem. We removed hundreds of lbs of trash, scrubbed some (of the infinite...) graffiti, and ate a lot of burgers.
	July 5 : Doug Shepherd Slideshow - Winter Alpine Climbing: The Idiot's Guide to Self-Abuse. A great slideshow from a world-class climber and fellow scientist!
	Aug 8 : Stoney Point film screening -We hosted a screening of the new documentary, 'Stoney Point: Portrait of an American Crag', with director Cole Gibson on hand for Q&A.
	Sep 27 : Andrew McLean Slideshow! We hosted legendary ski mountaineer Andrew McLean who told us all about his 14 year quest to climb and ski the Alaskan Family.
	Oct 3 : Reel Rock 2012 - we again hosted the Reel Rock film tour. SOLD OUT on October 1st. An awesome night with great movies, tons of swag, and a full house!
	Oct 3 : Photography Competition 2012 - check out the entries here. Winners were announced at Reel Rock on October 3. Thanks to everyone for the beautiful entries, and to the GSC for support!
	Oct 17 : Boot party!
	Oct 24 : Annual BBQ and Slideshow ! This was a great success, with ~60 people attending, and some of the best slideshows we've had!
	Nov 13 - We hosted the SCMA RCS 80th Anniversary event featuring climbing mega-legend Royal Robbins, along with Jerry Gallwas, Mike Sherrick (the FA team of Half Dome's NW face) and many more. In attendance were many legends of California's climbing history. Amazing.
