We started at 9am from the car at the Wolverton snow play area in Sequoia NP and cut a skin track that pretty much followed an old bootpack on the trail up to tablelands. We saw what will be some awesome moderate skiing and trudged back to our car. | We started at 9am from the car at the Wolverton snow play area in Sequoia NP and cut a skin track that pretty much followed an old bootpack on the trail up to tablelands. This past weekend was the first big storm of the ski season in Sequoia National Park. After working a lot over the thanksgiving holiday, we took Monday off to check out the snow. It resulted in a highly scenic ski tour up to tablelands (nearly to Pear lake hut). Few turns and no good turns were had, but still a good time was had by all. A few more storms and we'll be skiing up here!
