The Alpine Club is hosting a talk by Floris van Breugel on Wednesday November 3 2010 at 7:30pm in the Beckman Institute Lecture Hall. Afterwards, there will be a reception with refreshments and a viewing of an exhibit of some of Floris's outstanding images in the Chandler Dining Room Annex. The exhibit will run through the end of November.

Floris will be leaving the area after December, so this will be an opportunity to thank him for the inspiration he has provided us over the years and a last chance to enjoy his amazing talent.

Floris is an award-winning, California-based nature photographer (and Caltech CDS graduate student) with a passion for discovering creative interpretations of mysterious, otherworldly, and elegantly beautiful landscapes.

Title: Art in Nature: Exploring Patterns and Emotion in the Wilderness

Abstract: Floris will take us through a collection of his images that go beyond simple documentation, including studies of sensual sand dunes, ancient Bristle Cones and magnificent mountains---in fact, Nature in all her splendor. Along the way he will give us a glimpse into his thought process, and share some stories from the field.
